Tar & Chip is a gravel bonded surface that is applied to hot liquid tar that is spread on the driveway sub base then the gravel applied on top is evenly spread over the tar then rolled on top of the gravel to compact the tar & gravel together to make a bonded surface, Chip & Tar.

Tarmac is the most popular surface and is well known for its low maintenance.

UV Resin Bound is a more recent surface to the market known for its porous driveway surface that is great for small areas as it is very expensive to install compared to Tar & chip/chip & stone & Tarmac.

Gravel Driveways, The gravel driveway is just loose decorative stone applied to normally a type 1 base. This is affordable but 100% loose which can transfer to inside the house more compared to a hot tar & chip driveway.
