Resin bound

Resin bonded surfaces in a range of colours and styles

What is resin bonded?

Resin bonded surfaces are similar to hot bitumen and gravel or tar and chip surfaces. They have similar elements but different applications. Resin bond is a scattered level gravel on top of a layer of resin. Just like tar and chip, except the resin is poured out of a bucket, spread evenly with a rubber rake and then we scatter the clippings evenly over the resin.

This provides a texture and the appearance of loose gravel but unlike tar and grit, the gravel is stuck firmly onto of the resin surface sub coat and does not leave any loose gravel on top. The advantages of a resin bonded driveway surface is that you have lots of choice regarding the look and finish of the surface and lots of colours and textures can be incorporated to create your ideal finish.

How does it work?

Resin-bound paving is a mixture of aggregates and resin used for driveways, paths and patios. It is great for domestic and commercial use and is even more durable that traditional resin-bond surfaces. It is a flexible surfacing material, so is resistant to cracking. Resin-bound paving is a fully permeable paving solution which allows water to freely drain through the surface. Resin bound surfaces meet the requirements of (SUDS) standards, (This is the Sustainable Urban Drainage system that helps to prevent standing water and largely eliminates puddles).
